Convert without running a cutout
Leave Remove background off, choose Original dimensions, set breathing room to 0% and select JPG. This keeps the whole source image in the canvas while changing the export format.
Conversion does not need the background-removal model. If the source already has transparency, choose a background deliberately: JPEG cannot retain transparent pixels.
Pick the right background for transparent edges
White is a useful starting point for product photos that will sit on a white page. If you choose another color, it becomes part of the JPG and cannot be switched off later.
Inspect translucent edges on the chosen background. A cutout prepared against a different color may show a light or dark fringe. Keep the PNG source so you can re-export if the destination background changes.
Balance quality and file size
Begin with the 90% JPG quality setting, download one image and inspect text, fabric texture and high-contrast edges. A lower setting can reduce file size but can introduce visible compression artifacts.
A JPG is not guaranteed to be smaller than every PNG. Flat illustrations, simple logos and text can compress efficiently as PNG. Compare the actual downloads rather than assuming the format name determines the winner.
Avoid repeated recompression
Make each new JPG from the original PNG instead of editing and saving an earlier JPG repeatedly. The originals are not overwritten by this workflow. Use a ZIP to download several completed conversions together.
Common questions
Will my transparent PNG stay transparent?
No. JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas are flattened onto your selected color, with white used for a transparent-background JPG export.
Does changing PNG to JPG improve image quality?
No. JPEG uses lossy compression and cannot recover missing detail. Choose a high enough quality setting for your intended use and retain the PNG source.
Can I convert HEIC or animated files?
The current upload workflow accepts PNG, JPG and WebP. HEIC and animated-image conversion are not supported.
